Express Bus Service from Colombo

Bandaranaike International Airport and the heart of Colombo are both serviced by the Colombo Express Bus.

Central Bus Station, Pettah Fort, and Colombo Fort Station are all stops along the route, and buses leave every 30 minutes from 5:30 am to 8:30 night. A one-way fare in India costs Rs 110.00.

Catch the bus at the Katunayake Airport's Bus Terminal and head to Colombo Fort via Route No. 187.

There is a bus leaving every 45 minutes, and it runs nonstop. The entire trip should take no more than 1.5-2 hours. All shuttles leave from the Katunayake Airport Bus Station.

Tuk-tuks are also a convenient mode of transportation. However, they are not permitted inside the airport. The fare for a taxi is about Rs 110.00.

Expressway E03 between Colombo and Katunayake

The Expressway between Colombo and Katunayake is the second E Class expressway in Sri Lanka. The route is 16.0 miles in length and connects the cities of Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, and Negombo with the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.

From Colombo to Peliyagoda, the highway has three lanes (with a width of between 26 and 33.5 meters). In contrast, Peliyagoda to Katunayake has two routes.

For the first eight kilometers, the speed restriction is 80 km/h, and for the remaining distance, it is 100 km/h. The Expressway has 42 bridges and 88 culverts, the longest being 480 meters at Hunupitiya and 800 meters at Katunayake.

In just 15 minutes, you can now drive from Colombo, Sri Lanka's commercial hub, to Katunayake, the country's principal international airport.

Colombo, the nation's capital, is about 20 minutes away from Negombo, a major economic center and popular tourist destination, thanks to the E03 Expressway.

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has launched a new high-end bus service between Colombo and Negombo.
